Strengthening Nonprofits

Nonprofits are at the forefront of tackling economic insecurity where it hits hardest. Strong nonprofits mean stronger communities. We’re building a robust ecosystem of nonprofit organizations to help Korean American communities nationwide thrive.

Explore the four strategies that define our commitment:

Grants

We partner with nonprofits that are closest to the communities they serve, providing them with funding and capacity-building support.

Capacity Building

The goals to address the chronic underinvestment in the Korean immigrant community by raising funds for programs.

Fellowships

We are building a pipeline of Korean American nonprofit professionals through our unique fellowship programs.

Convening

We convene nonprofit and philanthropic leaders to foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Grants

We provide funding to nonprofits to strengthen programs and initiatives that help community members achieve both immediate and long-term economic security. By partnering with organizations deeply rooted in the communities they serve, we ensure support reaches those whose struggles are often overlooked.

Capacity Building

Beyond funding, we invest in the long-term success of our grantee partners. Our team of bicultural consultants--who have years of experience working in our community--provide tailored support that reflects our confidence in their vision, leadership, and potential.
We assume a strenghts-based persepective and co-create solutions that recognize each organization's unique goals and challenges.
We help staff, leadership, and board members engage and align to problem-solve together.
We support leaders in building the skills and confidence to navigate change and lead effectively at every stage of their growth.

Convening

The National Convening is the first and largest gathering of its kind, bringing together Korean Americans in nonprofit and foundation leaders changemakers from across the country to connect, learn, and collaborate for greater impact. This convening serves as a vital platform to:
Bridge new connections across sectors and regions
Discuss emerging issues impacting Korean Americans and nonprofits
Share expertise and strategies for strengthening our communities
Spark ideas for collaboration

2025 National Convening will be taking place on May 19, 2025

We haven’t confirmed a venue yet, but will be opening registration soon. If you have questions about the National Convening, contact Young Bae at young@kacfny.org.
